For over a decade, I have been working with Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats, who have been rescuing and rehabilitating goats in need since 1989. During this time, I have had the privilege of writing the quarterly newsletter, full of stories both heart-breaking and heart-warming. 2023
2023 was a year packed full of happy endings! From strength in the face of overwhelming odds, to forming life-long friendships, and even the rescue of a wild young goat who thought he could take on the world.
2022
A year full of extreme highs and tear-jerking lows for the sanctuary. Adorable rescues, several naughty goats keeping us on our toes and, tragically, an incident of arson, this year demonstrated the very best and the worst of life on earth.
2021
This year we were privileged to meet several new characters, have a chat with one of the sanctuary’s longest-term residents (really!) as well as catch up with the wilder goings-on of Buttercups.
2020
2020 saw a bumper year for rescues of goats in desperate need of our help, as well as experiencing the delights of life in lockdown with the herd!
2019
This year we were able to dive into goat psychology with one of our more challenging individuals, discover a little something about donkeys and take a moment to reflect and dream with the sanctuary’s founder.
2018
A time that saw difficult farewells and life-changing new arrivals, as well as an opportunity to reflect on the benefits the sanctuary has not only to its residents, but to the community of people involved as well.
